Motofreestyle World Championship returns to Riga!
On 15 October 2016 the Arena “Riga” will host the FMX World Championship Grand Prix of Latvia.
Motofreestyle is a comparatively new kind of motosports and its popularity as well as the skills of the riders develop rather quickly. The breathtaking stunts performed by the riders are so extraordinary that unaccustomed observers would refuse to believe their eyes. This is the reason why the Motofreestyle World Championship events in Arena “Riga” are visited by more than 6000 spectators who enjoy both, the spirit of competition and the stunning figure jump performance.
Motofreestyle World Championship traditionally has 9 to 10 rounds, and one of them will take place on 15 October 2016 in Riga. In every round the riders compete to win Grand Prix as well as collect points for the World Championship total score. Points are awarded by an international Jury judging the complexity, uniqueness, style and amplitude of the jumps, as well as responsiveness of the audience during the stunts.
Every round has 12 to 13 participants and is divided into two parts: it starts with the qualification after which the 6 best riders continue the competition in finals after the break. The competition will include also a Whip contest and Highest Air contest, where so far the best score in Arena “Riga” is 8.6 m.
The championship will start at 7 p.m. but we invite fans to use the unique chance to meet their favorites, take photos, get autographs and inspect the motorbikes during the Pit Party already from 5 p.m. There will be an opportunity to get autographs also after the event.
